Fela Kuti - Roforofo Fight (1972)

This is a one of Fela's better albums, with six incredible afrobeat jams that are just weird enough. Sure to turn some heads and prompt your friends to ask "What the fuck are you listening to!?"

UNKLE - The Time Has Come EP (1994)

Also known as "A Tribute to Sun Ra and All Things Fucked Up!", this was UNKLE's first offical release. The core of 90's Trip Hop music. Listen to them then and listen to them now. Not even close.

An awesome six track collection of three 45 LP's for your listening pleasure. The full CD release has four additional tracks. Quantic; continuing to kick ass.

Journey Through the Past: A Film by Neil Young

Soundtrack to the very bizarre 1972 movie by Neil Young, Journey Through the Past. Follow Neil and his buddies Crosby, Stills, and Nash as they tour the American Deep South. The perfect combination of Rock-n-Roll, weed, and Jesus.

Stereolab - Serene Velocity Anthology (2006)

Not Ernie Gerhr's experimental short film, but rather a solid compilation of material originally released during the band's Elektra years.

The Chemical Brothers - American EP (2002)

Five well known Chemical Brothers tracks remixed with pulse-pounding amplified authority. Whether hoofing it through the the elements or being wedged between two semi-trailers on the southbound Turnpike, this EP will get you there.

The Chameleons [UK] - Strange Times (1986)

LP number three for this dream pop British band, and what a venture into post-punk obscurity it really is. An older fellow caught me listening to The Killers back when Hot Fuss was still fashionable and really laid into me. "All they did was rip off The Chameleons. See how funny this is? You think this crap is cool, but it isn't. They're a bunch of fucking hacks!-- sucking off someone elses teet". Moments later the yelping sound of a nearby dog prompted the aging hipster to abruptly leave. "It's all crap now," he muttered softly on his way out the door.

Felt - A Tribute to Lisa Bonet (2005)

Not really sure what this album has to do with American Actress Lisa Bonet. Perhaps the TV inside of the Los Angeles hotel room where pre-production for this album was done, got stuck on re-runs of The Cosby Show. With nothing better to do besides pound beers and rip butts-- Murs, Ant & Slug, focused their energy on a linear field of blue micro-dots and started rapping. The results? A rejuvenation for those disaffected with the dismal current state of mainstream Hip Hop music.

DJ Tiësto - In Search of Sunrise 3 (2002)

Fifteen other Tiësto albums have managed their way into my trance collection since purchasing just this one. In Search of Sunrise 3 features a multitude of serene intros and "rising tidal melodies".   The musical parts conducive to dance are often atmospheric and delayed, which makes this a more unique and reclusive trance album from my point of view. Download. Enjoy. Comment.
